To Shave or Not to Shave?

Well, I shaved my Christmas goatee yesterday. I let it grow for about two weeks every year right around the holidays.

It actually looked pretty cool...I felt like "evil Kirk" from that old Star Trek episode with the parallel universe.

Still, every time I kissed my little girls they would say, "too scratchy!".

So I shaved it.

My four-year-old must have gotten used to the look of it, though, because she came into the bathroom after I had shaved, looked at me, and said,

"Gee, Daddy, your head sure looks funny!"

Boy, how's that for a nice send-off to start the work week?? :-)

:) My brother grew a Christmas goatee, too. My hunny has a full-time goatee and I LOVE it. He shaved once when the kids were younger and my daughter started screaming when he walked into the room. It stays.

Personally, I don't care for facial hair, but my opinion doesn't count in the least! I worked with a guy that had a beard and mustache for 15 years (or something like that) his kids didn't know him without it so when he shaved it off they didn't recognize him :)

Sorry, forgot to say this before. I love the evil Kirk episode. I'm a huge Star Trek fan.

My husband has a beard and mustache and has only shaved it off once since we've been married. I can't remember why he did it, but I do remember that we put our only kid at the time right there on the counter next to him while he shaved it off. She still screamed!

Our two little ones scrunch up their faces when he comes to kiss them. It's quite adorable.

Coach has the full facial hair thing going on, but its kept trimmed really close. Personally, I love it. BUT.... I didn't always. However, now he looks a lot younger without it, and it makes me feel like I'm in some sort of May-December thing. :)

BTW... I finished that meme you tagged me for! :)

My husband will only shave when his daughters complain about the scratchiness.

"Santa" bought him a beard trimmer. He asked for it, I swear!

Last post you asked about more Daddy blogs. Have you found "Cry it out: Adventures of a Stay-at-home dad" yet?

Hey, thanks for mentioning that blog. I'll have to go check it out. Still clean-shaven! Maybe next year.

My hubbs has had a goatee for more years than I can remember. I've grown to love it and fear I'd miss it if he ever shaved. It took us a while to get used to it, though.
